Hundred-fold Ground

Hello everyone,

I thought I would share a report I recently received from a student.

When he went through Cosmic Secrets and April Fools 15 years ago, he lit up like the Sun. He had never experienced such inner silence nor the definite presence of a passenger in his carriage.

Then, when he got back home, he kind of kept it on the down low because he was not sure if it was just a flash in the pan moment, if it was something that would persist, or if the chaos of life, wife, kids, and job would cause it to diminish… but for several days it maintained itself and, as he did not want to loose it, he started doing exercises every day – in order to strengthen it, and by so doing… it continued and expanded. So, next, he memorized 1,001 words and called me to obtain the Master Exercises. We probably only spoke 2 or 3 times a year but when we did, he would elaborate on his efforts and results and it soon became obvious that he was ready to receive the next set of exercises.

Life went on and time passed. Once and awhile, emails were exchanged. Christmas cards. Nice family.

Then I got a Ventrilo call from him because he wanted to share with me what had happened to him over the last 15 years as a result of Cosmic Secrets, April Fools, and the rest.

He found it hard to convey his report without tearing up… but he managed. He let me know that, since his 10 day journey to Sanger, his inner world has been constantly improving. Such freedom and clarity.

Steward, Master, Reason, and Impartiality had become daily occupants in his machine, which not only transformed him but also changed the people around him; the wife, the kids, the boss, the in-laws, and the neighbors. Even random people were approaching him… asking questions; or, just wanted to be in his presence.

He attributed it to the fact that, over the past 15 years, what I had taught him had began to consume him. He listened to the recordings of his journey in Sanger so many times that it had entered his understanding, and he also verified all the math and duplicated all the diagrams in Cosmic Secrets to where he was able to explain them to others.

He thanked me again and again for sharing so freely with him this objective way… and for what it had created in him over the past 15 years; and, for his perfect life, i.e., he wanted me to know how much Cosmic Secrets and all that followed had transformed him. He then said, "But you already know that because you probably hear the same report from everybody".

I then explained to him that my teaching, itself, did not transform the students… but rather, that the students had transformed themselves because of my teaching. That everyone, who came here to study with me, received the same teaching… but, everyone did not get the same results. So "transformation" was not in the teaching, because the teaching was the same for everyone. "Then where is it", he asked?

I replied, "The seeds of truth have remained the same. It is the ground that has varied".

Just like in the parable of the sower… different ground yielded different results.

I then proceeded to tell him a long-winded-dissertation on the parable of the sower and emphasized that I had been taking folks through Cosmic Secrets pretty much the same way for the last 20 years, and that during that time the truths have remained constant… the only change was in the quality of the ground on which they fell. When they fell on good ground, the good ground nurtured them, cultivated them, removed any weeds that might compete with them, and allowed them to grow, flourish, and spread… until the garden had transformed, irrevocably, like him.

He smiled. We /bowed.

PS: I’ll leave you with this thought:

Don’t wait around for the teaching to transform you. Instead, use it to transform yourself… just like in the example below.

A student once said, "Of the thirty-six Dog Training Exercises, I am having difficulty with ‘lying still for one hour’… can you help me?". We discussed it. The next day he gave the same report and a few days later, the same. I told him that many students randomly pick an exercise to do each day – letting him know that he did not have to focus on just one exercise like lying still for one hour, that a random selection of exercises would offer various other exercises; and, then, the "lying still for one hour" exercise would show up in the mix only every once and awhile. He said, "Oh, I know that… but I decided that in order to change my being, I needed to do all thirty-six of them every day".

I was silent.

No wonder he is now showing others how to awaken. He is an example of the hundred-fold ground…
